READ ACT CEUs
Beginning July 1, 2024, each district and charter school must provide teachers and instructional support staff responsible for teaching reading with training on evidence-based reading instruction approved by the Department of Education. The Minnesota Board of School Administrators (BOSA) acknowledges that many administrators will choose to involve themselves in training to support teachers in The READ Act.
BOSA will make CEUs available for administrators who have successfully completed any of the three approved professional development programs. Understanding that administrators may not be available to participate in the total number of hours a teacher does, we are offering BOSA approved CEUs for a reduced number. BOSA has streamlined the application process for the READ Act training to obtain administrative CEUs without individual administrators having to fill out the CEU request form.
Approval must be secured before beginning a continuing education professional development activity if clock hours are to be earned. (Minnesota Rule 3512.1200) BOSA requires districts and organizations to email the completed form to gabrielle.caron@state.mn.us.
